Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay anything at time of booking?

Yes, there is a 50% deposit due at the time of booking and the remainder is due within 4 months of your arrival date.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, within 30 days of booking you can cancel and receive a 50% refund of your deposit. Any cancelations after 30 days will receive no refund. In the event you cannot attend, your reservation is transferrable to other guests should you find someone to replace you. To safeguard yourself from unforeseen events, travel insurance is strongly and urgently suggested.

Do I have to participate in all activities?

No, If you prefer to sit out of certain activities or even prefer to stay at the château and explore the local village for the day, that is your prerogative. You have carte blanche to decide! However, we have hand selected and vetted every venue and vendor, selecting only the very best!

What ages is this trip appropriate for?

We have hosted ages 19-82! It is important that all guests have good mobility to navigate stairs and uneven terrain. The Château does not have an elevator and your King suite will be on either the second or third floor. Most of the streets are cobblestone and many buildings do not have elevators. Guests also need to handle their own luggage unless it is possible to request some type of assistance from their private driver when they arrive and depart. In addition, most of our excursions do have activities that include “adult” beverages. But the drinking age and policies are much different than in the U.S. In France it is legal for ages 18+ and in Germany and Switzerland it is 16+ to order and drink alcohol. However if a child is with their parent, most establishments allow the parent to decide if child can be served under these ages.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

If you have an allergy to certain food (s) that negatively impact your health, that can be accommodated. Because many people do not prefer certain meats or seafood, Chef Philippe is prepared to offer a pre-planned alternative meat or vegetarian option for the main course. But, beyond that, no additional personal preferences can be accommodated. All food in Europe is much cleaner than what we are used to. People who cannot tolerate certain foods in the U.S. find that that can eat things like gluten and dairy with no issues.

Can I request a specific itinerary?

Yes! If you have a group of 10+ we can customize an itinerary for you. We can do all Alsace France if requested, we can do more or less wineries, more or less of Germany, no Switzerland, etc.

Can you accommodate larger groups?

Yes. Two of the suites at the château have two bedrooms. Both of the bedrooms share the suite bathroom. In one of the 2 bedroom suites, the bathroom is located inside one the bedrooms, the other is in the common area. The extra bedrooms in these suites also have a twin bed option en lieu of a King sized bed. These particular suites can accommodate 2-4 people.

Can you accommodate single occupancy?

Yes, but there is no single occupancy rate . Each suite must be booked as a double occupancy. Two of the rooms at the château have separate bedrooms, but they both still share the suite bathroom. So, it would be necessary to find a travel companion to take the other room or have a willingness to share with another single. The extra bedrooms in these suites have a twin bed option as well if you have more than one person traveling with you.
